The central decor element (Model 1070) is a symmetrical relief featuring a vertical axis of bilateral symmetry, composed of stylized acanthus leaves and a central longitudinal molding with volute-like terminations. This type of composition traces back to classical Renaissance ornamentation, where the motif of the fan-like spreading acanthus was extensively used in the decoration of pilasters and friezes at the Palazzo Farnese in Rome, designed by Antonio da Sangallo the Younger and Michelangelo.
