Central decor element (Model 1197) is a relief ornament featuring bilateral axial symmetry based on classical motifs. The composition includes stylized palmettes framed by symmetrically diverging scrolls and stylized acanthus leaves, joined into a continuous frieze. Historically, the palmette as a plant ornament motif became widespread in the architecture of Ancient Greece in the 5th century BC, where it was used to decorate acroteria and temple friezes, and was later revived during the Neoclassical era by architect Charles Percier for the interiors of Parisian Empire style mansions. Suitable for decorating furniture facades, door portals, ceiling coffers, wall panels, and interior decoration.
