The decorative element «Cartush Shield» (Model 1950) is a bilateral symmetric bas-relief composition shaped as a heraldic shield featuring a smooth central field intended for a monograph or coat of arms. The perimeter of the shield is framed with bead-and-reel ornamentation, the upper section is crowned with a heraldic coronet incorporating fleurs-de-lis, and the base is adorned with scroll volutes and stylized acanthus leaves. The cartouche form originates from 16th-century Mannerism, when architects of the Fontainebleau school first introduced strapwork motifs resembling rolled parchment for framing heraldic insignia.
