The decorative element "Cold flame" is a symmetrical vertical ornament featuring an elongated oval cartouche formed by intersecting stems, terminated with stylized acanthus leaves and scroll volutes at the base, and crowned with a vertically twisted finial at the top. The composition possesses bilateral axial symmetry and is executed in high relief. Similar motifs of elongated cartouches and volutes became widespread in French furniture decoration during the Regency and early Rococo periods, popularized by ornamentists such as Jules-Aurele Meissonier and Charles-Nicolas Cochin in the first third of the 18th century.
