Decor element frieze central (Model 1109) STL

The central frieze features a strict bilateral symmetry with a dominant central round medallion containing a profile bas-relief of an antique figure. The composition is based on classical architectural orders: the frieze field is divided into vertical fluted panels framed at the top by a bead-and-reel molding (astragal). Festoons (garlands) of laurel leaves with ribbon bows draped over rings diverge symmetrically from the central medallion. The use of profile portraits in circular medallions (resembling cameos or ancient coins) entered mainstream European architectural practice following the excavations of Herculaneum and Pompeii in the mid-18th century, which decisively influenced the development of Neoclassicism and the Empire style. Suitable for decorating furniture facades, door portals, wall panels, and frieze borders in interior design.
