"Decor with Rose" (Model 2659) STL

The decorative element "Decor with a rose" (Model 2659) is a bas-relief composition featuring bilateral symmetry. The central axis of the composition is crowned at the top with a stylized rose blossom, flanked by carved acanthus leaves and converging volutes that form an arched contour. The lower section of the ornament is accentuated by a shell-like cartouche with radiating ribs, from which smoothly curved shoots with acanthus foliage extend laterally. The use of rose motifs in architectural ornamentation and woodcarving became widespread in France during the reign of Louis XIV, where this motif was extensively employed in the interior decoration of the Palace of Versailles by court woodcarvers under the direction of Charles Le Brun. Suitable for decorating furniture facades, door portals, ceiling coffers, wall panels, and home interior design.
