Oval frame «Venzel with flowers» (model 6175) STL

The frame has an oval geometric form. The ornamental structure is constructed as a continuous floral wreath composed of stylized rosebuds, small blossoms, and acanthus leaves. The upper terminal (crest) is decorated with a large textile bow featuring fluttering ribbons, the knots of which secure the upper section of the floral garland; the lower section of the profile is closed by a symmetrical convergence of stems and buds. Such decorative motifs featuring garlands and ribbon bows became widespread in European framing during the Neoclassical period of the second half of the 18th century, when French and English interior design was dominated by symmetry, classical references, and floral allegories originating in the Louis XVI style.
