Rectangular frame «leaves» (model 6281) STL

The rectangular frame is designed in the Baroque style. The composition is based on a symmetrical plant ornament featuring stylized leaves and scrolls. The corner zones and central sections of the framing are accented with carved elements in the form of curls and leaf plates that transition into the profiled moldings of the inner perimeter. The upper crest and the lower section are treated in a unified manner, forming a continuous openwork contour with pierced details. Historically, Baroque frames for mirrors and paintings of the 17th and 18th centuries gained prominence during the period of extensive development of mirror manufacturing in France, when the monopoly of Venetian craftsmen was broken and large mirror plates became available for decorating formal interiors of châteaux and palaces, which required heavy molded or carved wooden framing.
