The rectangular frame is executed in the Rococo style and features a vertical orientation with an accentuated shaped crest. The frame profile is formed by strict geometric moldings that contrast with the decorative header, which contains symmetrically arranged scrolls, rocaille motifs, and a central floral element in the form of a stylized palmette or shell. Historically, Rococo frames gained widespread use in France during the reign of Louis XV, when asymmetrical ornaments and sea-shell motifs dominated the interior decoration of mirror galleries and salon furniture, replacing the heavy academic style of Baroque.
