Panel "Cossacks write a letter" (Model 5359) STL

The composition of the relief reproduces a multi-figure scene based on the painting by Ilya Repin, where a group of Zaporozhian Cossacks is concentrated in the foreground and center around an improvised table, engaged in drafting a collective reply to the Turkish sultan. The background is formed by figures of standing Cossacks, military equipment, and the outlines of a tent camp, while the spatial depth of the relief is emphasized by the multi-planar arrangement of the characters and framed by a complex profiled moulding with floral ornamentation. The historical prototype for this plot was an actual document from 1676, according to which the Cossacks responded to the ultimatum of Ottoman ruler Mehmed IV with a text saturated with ironic titles and colloquial expressions. Suitable for the decoration of studies, libraries, living rooms, and thematic halls.
