The foreground of the relief depicts an elderly man with a long beard, sitting cross-legged on a wooden deck and shaving with a straight razor. The middle ground features the interior of a log bathhouse: a mirror with a bottle is fixed on a shelf to the left, a towel hangs on the wall to the right, and a lamp is positioned at the top. The background consists of the vertical texture of wooden wall planks, and the composition is enclosed within a rectangular smooth frame-baguette. Historically, shaving with a straight razor in the Russian bathhouse tradition was considered a separate ritual, as high humidity and steamed skin required extreme caution.
