The middle ground is filled with workshop interior details, including a window opening and tool elements on the table, while the background serves as a circular medallion shape enclosed in a rectangular frame with corner floral ornaments. The literary character Pinocchio was created by Italian writer Carlo Collodi in 1881, originally appearing in a children's newspaper under the title «The Story of a Puppet».
