In the foreground of the relief, the figure of a mounted warrior in armor with a bow behind his back stands out, followed by a dense mass of cavalry and archers. The background of the composition is formed by a cloudy sky, soaring birds, and anthropomorphic images of celestial bodies — the sun and the moon. The tactics of steppe armies were based on the high mobility of mounted archers capable of firing accurately on the move and performing evasive maneuvers.
