The composition of the relief is structured on a multi-planar principle: the foreground depicts an armored horseman on a rearing horse trampling a defeated dragon, while the background shows the contours of a building and figures. The central scene is enclosed within a figured frame-molding decorated with floral ornaments and rows of circular elements. The iconographic type of the equestrian warrior defeating a chthonic monster originates from ancient reliefs of Thracian horsemen and became widespread in medieval European and Christian tradition as an allegory of the triumph of order over chaos. Suitable for interior decoration of studies, living rooms, libraries, and themed halls.
