The composition of the relief is structured on a multi-planar principle: in the foreground, within the central medallion, the god Poseidon is depicted with a trident emerging from sea waves, while the lower and upper sections symmetrically feature figures of mermaids and stylized floral ornaments. The background consists of a smooth shell surface in the center and textured decorative elements along the perimeter of the rectangular panel, with no distinct external frame (baguette) present. According to ancient mythology, Poseidon's attribute is the trident, with a strike of which he is capable of causing earthquakes and storms, as well as creating water springs.
