"Peacock of Egypt" (Model 5009) STL

In the foreground of the relief, a figure of a peacock with detailed plumage texture stands on a circular pedestal. The middle ground features a hemispherical background with linear Egyptian hieroglyphs and symbolic depictions of architectural elements and solar signs, above which the fan of the bird's tail is spread. The composition is enclosed in a square frame-baguette, the corners of which are filled with carved plant ornaments in the form of acanthus and grape clusters. In ancient Egyptian iconography, the image of the peacock was not native and penetrated there in later Hellenistic epochs, but the synthesis of zoomorphic motifs and hieroglyphic writing is characteristic of eclectic decorative practices of the 19th century. The relief is suitable for decorating studies, libraries, and thematic interiors.
