Cross "Crucifixion" (Model 611) STL

The presented composition reproduces the traditional type of the Russian eight-pointed crucifix, which developed in the 14th–15th centuries within the context of hesychast theology and Byzantine iconography. At the center of the intersection is the image of Jesus Christ on Golgotha, with the head of Adam in a cave traditionally depicted at the foot of the cross, symbolizing the redemption of original sin. Flanking the Crucifixion are the Mother of Christ and the Apostle John the Theologian, while the upper tier and the ends of the crossbars feature angelic hosts and symbols of the Passion. Believers pray before such an image for spiritual strength, steadfastness in trials, protection from evil, and the commemoration of the departed.
