Cross "Crucifixion" (Model 619) STL

The Orthodox eight-pointed cross with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ dates back to ancient Byzantine traditions and the symbolism of early Christian art. The obverse canonically depicts the crucifixion of the Savior, the instruments of the Passion (the spear and the reed), and a symbolic representation of Adam's skull at the base of the cross, referring to the tradition of Christ's blood shed at the burial place of the forefather. The rounded terminations of the cross are frequently found in Russian pectoral and altar crosses from the 17th to 19th centuries. Believers pray before this image for protection against evil, the strengthening of faith in the redeeming sufferings of the Lord, the forgiveness of sins, and spiritual salvation.
