Icon "Alexy, the Man of God" (Model 850) STL

Saint Alexius, the Man of God, lived in Rome during the late 4th and early 5th centuries. Born to a wealthy and noble family, he secretly left his home on his wedding day to embrace a life of asceticism and devotion. He spent seventeen years as a beggar near a church in Edessa, and later returned to Rome unrecognized, living another seventeen years as a wanderer under the stairs of his parents' house. In Orthodox iconography, the saint is depicted as an ascetic who renounced worldly comforts. Believers pray before this image for spiritual endurance, patience through hardships, humility, and deliverance from despair.
