Icon "Burning Bush" (Model 724) STL

The iconographic type of the "Burning Bush" traces back to the Old Testament prototype—the burning bush that was not consumed by fire, through which God appeared to Moses. In Christian theology, this image symbolizes the immaculate conception of Christ by the Virgin Mary. The complex composition took shape in the 16th and 17th centuries, featuring the Mother of God with the Christ Child at the center, enclosed within an eight-pointed star formed by green and red rhombuses, along with the symbols of the Evangelists and guardian angels of the elements. In the Orthodox tradition, prayers before this icon are offered for the protection of homes from fires, lightning, and natural disasters, as well as for deliverance from spiritual and physical afflictions.
