Holy Martyr Tatiana of Rome suffered for the Christian faith in the 3rd century during the persecutions under Emperor Alexander Severus. Hailing from a noble Roman family, she was raised in piety and later served as a deaconess, aiding the needy and the sick. According to hagiographic tradition, she steadfastly endured severe tortures without renouncing Christ, and was beheaded around 225 AD. In the Orthodox tradition, the faithful pray before her icon for assistance in studies, the strengthening of faith, healing from grave illnesses, and protection during trials.
