"Icon of Alexander Nevsky" (Model 544) STL

The Holy Right-Believing Grand Prince Alexander Yaroslavich Nevsky (1221–1263) holds an exceptional place in Russian history and Orthodox hagiography as a wise ruler, diplomat, and defender of the Christian faith. Iconographic representations depicting the prince with a sword and a scroll emphasize his role not only as an invincible military commander, but also as a bearer of divine revelation and spiritual wisdom. In the Orthodox tradition, prayers before this icon are offered for protection against adversity, the strengthening of spirit during trials, the preservation of peace, and assistance to public servants and military personnel.
