"Icon of the Mother of God Unbreakable Wall" (Model 534) STL

The iconographic type "Unbreakable Wall" originates from the ancient 11th-century mosaic in the altar apse of the Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kiev. The Mother of God is depicted full-length with her hands raised in a prayerful gesture (Oranta), standing on a golden pedestal. The title derives from the akathist hymn and the prayer text framing the composition, portraying the Virgin as an unshakeable intercession and protection against visible and invisible enemies. Traditionally, the faithful pray before this image for the protection of their homes from disasters and calamities, as well as for spiritual strength.
