Panel "Temple of St. Nicholas in Tolmachi" (Model 834) STL

The first records of a wooden church in this Zamoskvorechye district settlement of translators, known as tolmachi, date back to the 17th century, while the current stone structure was built in the late 18th century. The principal shrine of the church is the wonderworking Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, returned from the museum vaults to its historical sanctuary. The faithful pray before these sacred images for the protection of the homeland, healing of afflictions, and peace, while St. Nicholas the Wondermaker is traditionally invoked for guidance in travel, hardship, and righteous decisions.
