The icon of the Mother of God "Kasper" (Model 851) STL

The Kasperov Icon of the Mother of God is one of the most revered wonderworking images of the southern region, which appeared in the 19th century. The iconographic depiction shows the Holy Theotokos tenderly pressing the Christ Child to Her cheek, while He holds onto Her hand. According to tradition, the copy was brought by Serbian settlers and came into the possession of landowner Kasperov in the Kherson Governorate during the 1840s, marking the beginning of its official veneration following documented healings. The image gained particular prominence during the Crimean War when it was processed through besieged Odessa, which subsequently withstood hostile forces. Believers pray before this icon for healing from illnesses, strengthening of faith, protection from calamities, and the preservation of peace.
