The icon of the Virgin "Fedorovskaya" (Model 936) STL

The Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God is one of the most revered wonderworking images of the Russian Church, iconographically close to the Eleusa (Tenderness) type. According to tradition, a copy of this image blessed the young Mikhail Romanov to the throne in 1613, after which the icon became the shrine of the royal house. In the depiction, the Blessed Virgin Mary holds the Child Christ, who presses His cheek to Her face, while the Infant's right leg is bared to the knee. Historically, the faithful pray before the Feodorovskaya image for well-being in marriage, assistance in difficult childbirth, the upbringing of children, and the granting of peace in troubled times.
