Rectangular frame «Rocale» (model 6226) STL

The rectangular frame model 6226 is executed in the Rococo style. The composition is based on asymmetric and symmetric rocaille scrolls, floral motifs, volutes, and stylized acanthus leaves framing the inner bead-and-reel profile. The upper crest and the bottom section are symmetrical, decorated with a central cartouche surrounded by C- and S-scrolls. During the height of the Rococo style in France in the second quarter of the 18th century, mirrors ceased to be exclusively personal items and evolved into large-scale architectural interior elements mounted on boiserie and above fireplaces, which necessitated the development of massive carved wooden frames with deep relief. The model is intended for framing wall mirrors, paintings, tapestries, portraits, and creating accent interior elements.
